Lakes Bob Sandlin, Monticello and Cypress Springs Bob Sandlin, Monticello and Cypress Springs Lakes are all well-known for their outstanding largemouth and white bass populations. In addition to the excellent bass fishing, anglers will have success targeting crappie and catfish. Lake Ray Roberts Lake Ray Roberts has great bass fishing, with 6, 7, 8 and 9-pounders a regular occurrence. Lake Ray Roberts has already given up 14-pound fish! Slab crappie pushing 3 to 4-lbs. are caught regularly. Lake Ray Roberts also offers good white bass and channel cat action. Lake Livingston A productive and diverse fishery, Lake Livingston's greatest amount of fishing pressure is applied to the abundant white bass populations. Lake Livingston also offers excellent angling opportunities for crappie, catfish, stripe (pure and hybrid) and black bass. Cedar Creek Lake Cedar Creek Lake's shallow, warm water sustains thriving populations of largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass and white bass. A 12-lb. largemouth bass stands as the current lake record and plenty of 3-lb. white bass are available. Richland Chambers Lake Richland Chambers Lake's excellent forage base sustains marvelous growth rates for gamefish. Black bass are frequently targeted here and many fish with double-digit weights are reported. Largemouth bass in the 10-lb. range are not unusual. Other angling opportunities include white bass, crappie and catfish. Lake Whitney An abundance of open water habitat and a strong forage base allow large populations of striped and white bass to thrive. Good numbers of largemouth bass are also found and an occasional smallmouth bass may be found. Channel, flathead and blue catfish fishing is good within the lake. Belton Lake Belton Lake is well-known for its healthy numbers of hybrid striped bass, and can also be a good largemouth bass lake from late February through April. Belton Lake also offers good white bass, smallmouth bass, crappie and catfish fishing. Stillhouse Hollow Reservoir Largemouth bass are the most abundant gamefish found in this very clear, deep reservoir.
